Natural Abstract 18″ x 10″plein air painting on panel
detail picture
Here is the painting I mentioned that needed some reworking. There was more color in the shadow and visually it didn’t make sense. What helped to complete this piece? Working on site, in the studio and from memory.

I created these tiles from my pastel work of last year. Your choice from 26 ceramic tile coasters*, perfect for entertainment or wall art.I am working on creating a sales presentation to offer local gift shops etc, to make these tiles available in.I would love to do Fine Art/craft Shows as a vender and am going to be visiting two Prime ones this summer in June, with hopes of having some fun and learning for next year.I will also be painting on site at 4 shows 3 of which I have been invited to paint by the promoter.

Realized what is wrong with the painting I thought was done.I took some pictures of it and although not satisfied I was going to post it and then I could move on.My camera was distorting the colors and it took a lot to adjust them on my computer back as close to they are in life.and that’s when I realized what’s wrong. There are too many colors.
I’ll post it when it’s done.
Some artists use mirrors in their studios to reflect their work in reverse, for this piece all it took was a poor picture to see what it needed.
It’s an odd piece anyway inspired twice over by two different moments.
I repainted entirely over the first sketch with a new series of time.
It was very unusual moment. The sun was setting behind the trees in my yard and casting upwards, lighting the underneath of the leaves as well as spiking through towards me in a few pinhole spaces between the dense spring leaves.plein air – landscape painting – art – abstract art

Ok so online I don’t normally write and write and certainly not very personally, if I did, Like I do offline, well….anyway, I was just saying to my husband, why do I have to write every thought down?I have Huge stacks of notes and to do lists on scraps of paper, envelopes, old school papers from the kids, loose leaf, spiral bound, hard cover journals, notebooks, printer paper – is my favorite and whatever is immediately at hand. Why?When the ideas come, if I don’t write them down, they drive me crazy. They keep bouncing around in my head, over and over until I release them on paper. As soon as my pen hits the paper I am better.Typing is ok, but not as healing or real for me as actually writing. When I’m writing I can doodle and I can see myself through my handwriting.and as soon as I write these things down, it’s as if my ideas step out of mind and are even closer to actually being real!
So with that said, if you live in the Northeast of the US, you know the weather we have had, for days now in Ohio we have had unending rain. Normally the rain really [ ... ]

Let me begin by telling you the weather here has been gorgeous and I really couldn’t ask for anymore. I love it when it’s not too hot, not too cold.
Dandelion Dreams8″ x 10″Plein Air oil on panel
This piece really surprised me. I worked & worked (played and played;) chasing the sun and shadows, hour after hour, running after the many shades of green and warm yellows that found their way through the leaves, dancing across the ground.

Spring Dreams18″ x 24″Oil on panel
Here is the second piece inspired by one sunset.
detail pic. This piece is so much more vibrant in person, I took the picture inbetween raindrops and I will reshoot it tomorrow. It’s raining again as it has been on and off today. I enjoy taking pictures of the work outside, the cast light from the sun causes clear color and shadows that help depict the work as natural as possible.-> Sold

5″ x 7″Oil on panel, plein air painting.
When the sunsets this way I absolutely love it and it was one of my favorite things to paint. There is something about the purple clouds and soft orange and pink, combined with the tree branches that I can’t take myself away from.
I finished this one today and am working on an 18″ x 24 of the same night. Will post as soon as it’s done.
