Carnival Days

I am going to begin offering quality prints of some of my paintings through my etsy store and website. The first one I have to present is Carnival Days. This is an archival giclee print on matte canvas from my original painting. The UV inks are said to last 100 -200 years which is a long time to enjoy this festive painting. The original was painted on site from a local homedays festival. It was my goal to capture the universal fun, joy and memories so many have of local festivals as well as the brilliance of the sparkling wares for sale. The image measures 8″ x 10″ with a generous white handling area on each side of about an inch and a half.I have signed the print on the back. I accept paypal,(paypal accepts most major credit cards) money orders, personal checks and google checkout. Make it Beautiful! RebeccaRebecca Grantham.Com, Modern Art Gifts Plein Air Cafe

Stone and Sun plein air Natural Abstract

Here is a refreshing piece for me,I titled it Stone and Sun,it measures 24″ x 36″ and was completed entirely out doors on site, alla prima plein air.Although it’s highly untraditional,It embodies my term Natural Abstract. and here are a couple detail pictures This piece was a much needed break. I enjoyed letting my mind relax and capture the movement of the sun and patterns of the shadows. It is something I am going to continue to explore. I am a seasonal person, I need nature’s seasons, although nature doesn’t need me.and as an artist I go through changes inward and outward like the moon. I have been experiencing changes in myself lately much like the spring coming out of winter. I came across this definition that I wanted to share. An Artist/Naturalist is a person whose intelligence and sense of self is embedded in Nature, and who expresses that deep connection through making art. yup that’s kind of me. and this from my treasured book from Emerson and Thoreau, All men are in some degree impressed by the face of the world; some men even to delight. This love of beauty is Taste. Others have the same love in such excess, that, not content with admiring, they seek to embody it in new forms. The creation of beauty is art. Emerson. I am not Emerson or Thoreau, but when I am within nature painting the beauty I’m experiencing,I am at peace and alive. I am a part of something greater. so maybe my struggle is with how I decide to go forward and [ ... ]
